Sometimes i sit and watch the
games of innocent children. They play the game of wedding of
their dolls and many other social traditions with simplicity
and concentration. They follow all the customs, be it decorating
the bride or making the groom sit on a horse. Musicians playing
on their instruments or the bride being sent away on a plane.
I find this game more realistic in comparison to the present
days wedding. This game of small children gives me pleasure
and inspiration. When i tell them to make all this in drawing,
they make it very simple and more closer to reality.
I really enjoy putting all this
on canvas. It is but natural that my paintings will reflect
the society and the environment. I paint the innocence and reality
of children and their game of wedding.
My aim is not to preach about
how the wedding of an adult should be, but to show the reality
of that game. Subject of my painting is like- A child who goes
to a drummer to show his pleasure at his dolls wedding by beating
on the drums, or a groom sitting on a dancing horse, pandit's
(priest's) profession or his drama, ladies sangeet or musician
playing on their instruments, even a bride's departure etc.
My paintings are not based on
realistic and current day but on the dramatic ways of a child's
imagination. Figures are depicted simply, which makes my thinking.
Colours have softness. I have
no particuler preference for any special colour as i have used
all the colours. Technically speaking there is flatness in the
painting, which is done intentionally. Instead of doing calculated
work with a brush, i have simply painted with a roller.
